YOUR SCHEDULE
Here’s what your week looks like..
SmartHead runs on a 9-week quarter cycle. Teaching weeks follow a simple rotation
schedule.
Self-guided weeks are lighter. Portfolio week is a celebration.
Every session is 30–40 minutes on Zoom. Every family is yours to guide.
• Lead 30–40 minute Zoom sessions, 3 days per week during teaching weeks
• Guide 8–12 families through a structured 9-week learning cycle
• Support parents during self-guided weeks with check-in calls and emails
• Help students build meaningful Hero’s Portfolios™ each quarter
• Celebrate student growth with a portfolio presentation every 9 weeks
COMPENSATION

Teaching weeks: Mon / Wed / Fri — 30–40 min sessions
Total teaching hours: ~6–10 hours/week, depending on family count
Self-guided weeks: Lighter schedule — check-ins and one email per family
Portfolio week: One 30-minute session per family

Do I need a teaching certificate?
Not necessarily. We value experience, philosophy, and genuine passion for personalized
learning over formal credentials. All teachers complete the SmartHead Master Teacher
Program™ before working with families.

Is this part-time or full-time?
It’s designed as a high-quality part-time role. Most teachers work 6–10 hours per week
starting out, growing to 10–15 hours as their pod grows.

What states do you operate in?
We currently serve ESA-eligible families in Utah, Arizona, Florida, and expanding.
Teachers can work remotely from anywhere in the US.

How soon could I start?
After your application and interview, new teachers complete the SmartHead certification
before meeting families. Most teachers are placed with their first families within 4–6 weeks
of acceptance.

What if I’ve never taught homeschool families before?
Many of our best teachers came from traditional classrooms. The SmartHead certification
program teaches you everything you need to know about working with homeschool
families. What matters most is your philosophy — not your background.
